Welcome to my patchwork journal. I enjoy expressing myself through fiber. Tiny pieces of vintage quilt blocks and fabric combined with hand stitches create my art. When not quilting I'm living a patchwork life. Always changing and helping to keep me young and on my toes. Join me in my experiences and thoughts.

Woodland No. 1
Weekly Art Quilt, Woodland No. 1, is complete---well as much as I can do now. Since the rains have gone away and the sun has been out---planting has begun. With that comes stiff hands, so hand stitching became a little difficult. May try to improve my machine quilting skills with this little weekly project. Anyway, french knots, back stitch and some quilting stitches helped to add punch to the tiny bits and pieces used to create trees, flowers, rocks and sun. The little quilt is 5 1/2" square. It was fun to have a project with a deadline. Check out the others at Serendipity Patchwork & Quilting. Already have ideas for the next mini. Have a great day and Happy Quilting!

Hi Jan- thanks for joining in the Weekly Art Project. This size work is great for experimenting. Your sun looks very jaunty!

ReplyDeleteBrenda thank you so much for offering the Weekly Art Project. I have not been stitching/quilting on a regular basis for a while now, and I have missed it. A weekly goal is just what I needed. I will be experimenting. I like working with bits and pieces--not sure where it will take me, but that's the fun.
