The month of March has started with a flurry of activity around the homestead. All this activity has left me with little time to quilt, but I've made up for it with some reading. Prairie Flower by Barbara Brackman is a great book on applique, but also has history and patterns---great read and wonderful ideas. My other two books are satisfying the liberated quilter side of me. Collaborative Quilting by Freddy Moran & Gwen Marston offer great ideas and stunning photos. Quilting with Style by Gwen Marston & Joe Cunningham is great for those unique finishing lines we are all looking for on our liberated quilt tops. These books have given me the break needed from the non-quilting activity at the house. Taxes are on the dining table---almost done, YEA!!!!! And the spring painting has begun.
The color is call Churchill Hotel Maple, from Lowes. (I'm really giving the plugs today!!) anyway I love it---really makes the woodwork pop. Of course, one improvement makes for another---so I've decided to upgrade two of our ceiling fans and a bathroom light fixture.
We have a beautiful day today, so hubby is outside working in the woods and racking some leaves, as winter is not over in MO and we are expecting some rains and colder weather this weekend. Well, back to the taxes---Happy Quilting to everyone!
