Woodland No. 4--Hodge Podge

This little mini is a Hodge Podge of all the bits and pieces that had collected on and around my cutting board.  This week I picked a room of the house each day to go through cleaning, pitching and reusing.  My cutting board area was a mess.  So, what better way to reuse than to just start sewing.  This little mini reminds me of what is happening on the outside of our woodland home, too.

We have been in a major landscaping mode for the past year.  Yes, year.  We had to take down some large trees that were becoming a threat to the house.  In doing so, we also took the opportunity to terrace, add dirt and large rocks to create a more level yard, both front and back.  So we are sowing--grasses, wildflowers, bushes, transplanting and mulching.  Our goal is to complete it in the next month.  But, if you watch the weather--rain in Missouri has been heavy this year so our outdoor project is progressing slowly.

But, my little quilt went together quite well.  I added wood beads, embroidery stitches and a wire hanger for fun.  The little quilt is 6" wide by 9 1/2" long from tip top of hanger to the bottom of the beads. 1. What a great idea to clean up by sewing. Genius! I particularly enjoyed the pig tail curled wire you used to hang the piece with.
