Welcome to my patchwork journal. I enjoy expressing myself through fiber. Tiny pieces of vintage quilt blocks and fabric combined with hand stitches create my art. When not quilting I'm living a patchwork life. Always changing and helping to keep me young and on my toes. Join me in my experiences and thoughts.

Can See The Light
I'm beginning to see the light. This week was painting week. We spent three days, painting trim, touching up areas, painting bookshelves, front door, master bedroom, master bathroom and utility room. We did some color changing--everything is light in nature. Though the house was not painted in a dark color, we even went lighter. Realtor said gray was the real color of choice, but if not light tans would be ok. We went for light tans. Next week will be the final packing up of stuff that is not going to the new house, but moving on to their next forever home. Our target date for actually putting the house on the market is April 15. Wish us Luck. Have a great week and Happy Quilting!

It's St. Patty Day
Not my work, but what a wonderful child's quilt. Just a sweet simple embroidery hand quilted little treasure. I found this little quilt at a tag sale many years ago and just had to take it home. It stayed in my collection for a few years and then as the collect grew to be a little to large I made a few hard choices and this little quilt moved to another home to be cherished by another quilt lover. That is the way with quilts, they bring delight to so many, if even for a short period of time. Perfect for a day like today. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

It's National Quilting Day
With friends around a frame or just a few stitches by machine or in a lab hoop. Celebrate National Quilt Day!
This may be a good day to refold your quilts in your collection. Quilt experts say that refolding quilts helps to keep fibers strong, maybe making National Quilt Day not only for quilting but also for preserving quilts stitched in the past is the thing we need to do!
Enjoy and Happy Quilting!

What a Job
I am so ready for this process to be over. I know I have said it before, I'm so glad we are doing this job now. I don't think this old body could have done it 5 or 10 years down the road. Our little house is so easy and we are both liking that. I'm missing my routine of quilting and playing with fabric. Looking forward to get the threads moving again. I will say one thing I do like the way we moved a room or two at a time. I have been able to set up the house so that it is our home and we are not living with boxes waiting to be unpacked. I know as we live here I will change some of the décor choices I have made, but for now it is nice and comfortable.
Hope it is sunny where you are. Spring is on the way in Missouri. Enjoy the weekend and Happy Quilting!

Wishing for Spring
It is snowing again. This has been a strange winter in the St. Louis area. We have experienced Spring like temps and then the next day 3" of snow. I am thinking Spring and the warmth and color of Summer.
We slept in our new home last night. It was so relaxing. We are far from moved in and I'm sure the snow we are having this morning will hamper any attempts today. So I'm going to concentrate on unloading boxes and make more decisions about what stays and what goes.
We have an unfinished basement, but with a rug, some furniture, TV and the fish tank, it is making a pleasant work place for our office and hubby's Sports Collection. The place is coming together. Hope you have an enjoyable week and Happy Quilting!
Sunday---Precious Promises
You may think that everything you do is right,
but remember that the Lord judges your motives.
Do what is right and fair; that pleases the Lord
more than bringing him sacrifices.
