Sunday---Precious Promises

If you become angry, do not let your anger lead you into sin, and do not stay angry all day.  Don't give the Devil a chance.  Ephesians 4: 26-27, Good News Bible

Healing Prayer Flag

Hubby and I have been away for a few days to the sunny state of Arizona.  We were to stay for at least 10 days----well that was cut short when our son became extremely ill with the flu.  He was in the ER twice within two days.  We made a flying trip home---24 hours drive.  All is well now and son is on the mend.  But, a quick call to a friend finds her very ill.  She has been battling a chronic disease  for a number of years and things became worst.   She is my quiet friend, who says very little about health or well being.  So I made a prayer flag this morning and will make a delivery this afternoon.

Her favorite color is blue----so blue it is.

My little prayer flags have been doing wonders, giving off peace and hope to all who have received them.  One flag has been passed on to another person in need after being used by it's first recipient--how wonderful.  Read more about my prayer flags here.  Since this little prayer flag was made fifteen minutes ago it is really an Off the Wall Friday post.  Have a wonderful weekend and
Happy Quilting!

Sunday---Precious Promises

See how much the father has loved us!  His love is so great that we are called God's Children---and so, in fact, we are.  This is why the world does not know us:  it has not known God.  My dear friends, we are now God's children but it is not yet clear what we shall become.  But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he really is.  Everyone who has this hope in Christ keeps himself pure, just as Christ is pure.

Treasure Keeper in the Making

I've started another Treasure Keeper.   I'm calling this one Hidden Nine Patch.

After a quick bath and dry, the first thing I do is cut the seams on the little vintage bags here.
I find it interesting that all these bags  have two seams--they are made on the fold.  They are also have uneven and odd sides, so I square up each bag.  Now the fun starts.  With my box of bits and pieces I create a little quilt to place on the bag.

For this one I stitched together a nine-patch and then appliqued it and part of a second nine-patch together in hopes of giving it a look of a little stack.  I will add quilting stitches---even some embroidery stitches, to complete the nine-patch look.

The back needs a patch too!!  A little buzzing bee will add interest.  After a short vacation to a sunshine state--there may be a complete bag to show.  Projects are going with me.  Check out Off the Wall for some wonderful quilts. Stay cozy and Happy Quilting!

Sunday---Precious Promises

Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the merciful Father, the God from who all help comes!  He helps us in all our troubles, so that we are able to help others who have all kinds of troubles, using the same help that we ourselves have received from God.

Sunny Day--I Think Spring

Today is sunny here in the woodland of Missouri.  I'm thinking Spring and Baseball.  I've started lap quilting a small patchwork quilt, that was just not fitting into a frame at my weekly church quilting circle.  As I'm stitching I'm thinking of the last quilt that I hand quilted.  It seemed to have taken forever, a good year if I remember correctly.  This one is much small and does not seem to be calling for as many stitches as my St. Louis Cardinal Baseball Quilt.  This little Cardinal quilt was fun to design and quilt even though it was a bigger project than I expected.
 I like small projects.

The little dog is a patchwork and the squirrel is an embroidery I found on eBay.  I was trying to tell a story of the love affair the city of St. Louis has with its Baseball Cardinals.  Everyone gets baseball fever in
Cardinal Nation.
Below the little butterfly buttons were added to give more whimsy to an area of green.  Well back to stitching my little patchwork block quilt.  Hope it's sunny where you are--enjoy the weekend and
Happy Quilting!!

Stuffed Treasure Keeper

This little Treasure Keeper is stuffed and ready to go.  I used raw edge vintage fabric squares along the bottom.

A couple little squares rapped around to the back.  Fabric ruffle and old lace closed the bag nicely.
Hand stitching keeps the patchwork together.  Have a wonderful Wednesday and Happy Quilting!
