Sunday---Precious Promises

Because the Lord is righteous and good, he teaches sinners the path they should follow.  He leads the humble in the right way and teaches them his will.  With faithfulness and love he leads all who keep his covenant and obey his commands.

Just for Fun

It's another rainy, dreary day here in the great state of Missouri.  We have had rain every day for weeks now. What's the best way to bring in some sunshine---quilting.  So I made this little mini quilt just for fun.  It's 3" wide and 7" long including the hanging ribbon and beads.  I've hand quilted around the center bear and then added larger stitches and french knots in the borders.  Also started a little series of four mini quilts/table toppers for the holidays.  Will be posting them shortly.  They will be great take along quilt projects for our travels in July.  Hope you're having a sunny day today.  Weatherman says next week we will be rain free--hope so---need a break.  Of course, as it goes in Missouri, by August we will be wishing for a little of this moisture.  Happy Quilting!!

Fun with Doll Size Quilts

I participated for a very short while in a monthly Doll Quilt Swap.  The swap had been going on for a number of years and I joined in February of this year.   Unfortunately, the swap is now being closed.  I will say while it was opened I really enjoyed making the little quilts and receiving beautifully crafted quilts from my swap partners.  Here are photos of three that I made---would you believe I forgot to take photos of the others.  What was I thinking???   No matter what size quilt you're working on---Happy Quilting!

And now I give you a new commandment:  love one another.  As I have loved you so you must love one another.  If you have love for one another, then everyone will know that you are my disciples.

Couldn't Sleep

I just could not sleep tonight---so I made a Prayer Flag for a high school classmate.  After high school we went our separate ways and didn't see or talk to each other of years.  Then about 20 years ago--realized we both taught in the same school district--actually our buildings shared the same parking lot.  It was in that parking lot that we caught up with each other briefly.  Then went our separate ways again.  We both since retired from the district.  Today, I found out she has an inoperable brain tumor. I'm thankful for the brief conversations we had in that parking lot and the memories of years past. Tonight I've been thinking of my life and how blessed I have been---how I need to sort through the unimportant things that get me down and concentrate on the positive--living each day to the fullest.

I found a quote years ago that I keep on my desk.  I don't know where it comes from but every once in a while I will read it and reflect--wish I could remember it on a daily basis.  Maybe now I will.

"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it.  You surround yourself with people who make you laugh.  Forget the bad and focus on the good.  Love the people who treat your right.  Life is too short to be anything but happy.  Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living."

Counting blessing with a thankful heart.  Happy Quilting!
