Central Division Champs & Needlework

There is no better time to complete handwork or in this case needlepoint than in front of the TV watching the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals in the Post Game Playoffs.  A few years ago I worked on a quilt, depicting all the World Series the Cardinals have won.  You may remember this one.

This years project is much smaller and will become a rectangle pillow.  I'm almost finished and the story quilt took a couple of years to complete.  This pillow hopefully a couple of weeks.  Baseball fans will understand--Post Season is always exciting no matter your team.  So Good Luck to everyone, but for me it's
Go Cardinals

Sunday---Precious Promises

Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not know where you are going; so how can we know the way to get there?"  Jesus answered him, "I am the way, the truth and the life; no one goes to the Father except by me.  Now that you have know me," he said to them, "you will know my Father also, and from now on you do know him and you have seen him."  John 14: 5-7

I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation.

Surgery has been completed and all is good--everything went well.  Now the healing begins.  This makes for a great quilting day in this household.

Prayer Flags for Parker

Parker at Easter
Our little Parker leaves tomorrow morning with his Mom and Dad for the Shriner's Hospital in Chicago.    Parker was born with a clef lip.  The doctor's say that on a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being the worst), Parker's lip is a 1 and his surgeries should be very easy.  Easy or not, this is a scary time for Mom and Dad.  I thought a couple of little Pocket Prayer Flags might help them on their trip to Chicago.

The whistling fisherman is for Mom and measures 4 inches square.

I made a much smaller one for our son (Parker's Dad) so he could put it in his pocket.
 It's only 2 x 3 inches.
If you're so inclined, say a little prayer for everyone as they embark on this journey.  Parker's surgery will be Friday.  For the doctor's skill, for Mom and Dad's patience, peace and strength during Parker's time of need and for Parker's uncomplicated recovery.  Thank you and wishing you a happy day.
Happy Quilting!

Sunday---Precious Promises

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am Your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.  Isaiah 41:10

Sunday---Precious Promises

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers nor things present nor things to come, nor powers nor height not depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.                                                                   Romans 8: 38-39

I Found A Spot

In some recent posts, I've talked about how things are changing around our household.  The sewing/guest room is now a Parker (grandson)/guest room.  Since my quilting was done in that room I have been looking for a spot and since our lower level is also the warehouse for hubby's sport memorabilia business, I was having a tough time. But, I found a spot, today.

It's located under the steps and in front of one of the atrium windows.  Right next to a coffee table. It's under that striped towel.  The table is one that I just can't seem to part with, but at the present time it's looking for a spot too.  We both fit nicely under the steps and out of the way of traffic.  The window is bright, which will make stitching enjoyable as I can look outside to the back yard, woods and one of our wildlife feeding stations.  The deer love this spot too.  Not as big as an entire room, but it will do.  As I mentioned before I'm enjoying this scale back time.  More time to enjoy Parker and doing smaller handwork projects.  I have more arranging to do on my spot to get it just right, so have a great weekend and Happy Quilting in your spot!
