I'm still not sure the pinwheels are traveling in the right direction, but I reset the blocks to the correct layout.  I like the look now.  Looking forward to today's Lesson 4.  Happy Quilting!

Lesson 3 OMG

Aiming for Accuracy Quilt A-Long Lesson 3 was NOT a good one for me.  I totally missed the accuracy mark.  I didn't know Half-Square Triangles could be so tough.

I think I put the pinwheels together wrong, because when it came to putting them together into this 4 block pattern things did not seem to work out.  I just could not see the pattern at all.  Maybe the selection of fabrics was wrong.  I may take this lesson apart and reset it????  On the good side the block does measure 21 1/2 inches square.  I hope Lesson 4 is a better on for me.  How's you quilt project coming along?  Happy Quilting!

Christmas Quilt Underway

The Aiming for Accuracy Quilt-Along is underway.  As I get ready to start the third lesson, I realized I have not shared the first two.

Both quilt lessons have been easy to put  together and great learning tools.  They have made me slow down and concentrate.  And I'm using pins---I have a tendency to forget the pinning part of piecing and just sew.  These blocks are 15 1/2 inches in size and pinning is essential.  I hope to complete the third lesson this weekend.  There is still time to join the group if you get the urge to improve your accuracy and make a great quilt.
