Friday Flowers

I've been enjoying the great outdoors this Spring & Summer season.  A little stitching is going on, but nothing ready to show.   Getting out early before the real heat of the day has refreshed my activity level.  Hubby & I are now walking every morning and then doing yard work before we have breakfast.  We get up early, around 5:30a.m.  Bo & Maggie enjoy the yard work, but hate the fact we go for walks without them.  It's hard to get exercise when you have to stop to smell every  tree and little twig.  So they wait for us patiently.

I've been stitching on some Christmas gifts.  I'm making miniature art quilts for display in shadow boxes.  They are quick and fun---I hope my friends will enjoy them too.  I choose a Christmas theme for the little quilts, thinking they could display the shadow boxes during the holidays. Touch of Red

AAQI Quilt #19 Touch of Red was made from drapery fabric with red prairie points for a hint of whimsy.  This little quilt is 7 x 7 1/4 inches and has been machine quilted.  My machine quilting is still shaky.  Practice, Practice, Practice, I just have to make the time.  Maybe I need to comment myself to a daily practice session just for free motion quilting.  That's sounding like a plan.  Have a great day and Happy Quilting!

One More Time!

Third time is the charm.  Blogger has made some site changes and I've been slow in getting involved with the new look.  This morning, out of necessity, I think, I have figured it out.  So here is the photo that was to go with today's blog.  Just a peek at my ever growing embellishment collection.

Embellishments, Again

I'm not sure what happened to my post this morning, Blogger seemed to only publish part of the entry.  I know I will not remember all of the entry, but my point is have fun with embellishments.  Be creative and open to little items that you can add to your quilt to give it that "wow" factor and unexpected surprise.  Happy Quilting!

Embellishments

"To make beautiful with ornamentation---decorate", the definition of embellishment according to Webster.  What Webster doesn't say is "fun".  Embellishments add a bit of "bling" and lots of "fun" to a wall hanging or a little quilt for AAQI.
